KB&G Partners: Michael B. Kent

Michael B. Kent obtained his B.A., magna cum laude,
from the State University of New York in 1973, being
elected Phi Beta Kappa, and his J.D. from
Hofstra University School of Law in 1976.

Michael began his career as a litigation associate
in a small, politically influential New York firm.
In 1981, he opened his own practice, which evolved
into KB&G, and has served over the years as litigation
counsel to several New York City firms in certain
high profile actions, including the Iran-United States
Claim Tribunal in the Hague. Michael's practice
emphasizes litigation, arbitration, and general commercial
and business law and planning, including real estate
transactions. Michael also handles the bulk of the firm's entertainment law practice.

Michael currently is the Village Justice of Thomaston (Great Neck), New York. He is a member of the New York State Magistrates Association, the American Judges Association, the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, the Nassau County Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. Michael is admitted to the New York and District of Columbia Bars, and to the United States District Court for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, and the Bar of the Second Circuit. He also was an adjunct professor (litigation studies) at Long Island University and Mercy College.
